Описание: | Earliest comprehensive dictionary of rabbinic literature, compiled at the turn of the 12th century and quoted often by Talmud commentators. Natan ben Yechiel of Rome was an Italian rabbi and lexicographer. His central work, the Aruch, was the first Talmudic dictionary and achieved a wide circulation soon after publication. He worked as a peddler of linen, until the opportunity came to devote himself entirely to Torah study. He travelled abroad to study with luminaries in Sicily and Narbonne, eventually returning to serve as head of the yeshiva in Rome. • NB! Version for GoldenDict (UTF-8) | ||
